About My Clients
My background includes working with immigrants, refugees, and folks with multi-cultural/multi-racial identities as well as LGBTQ+ identifying individuals with a focus on issues related to mood, identity, trauma, systems of oppression, self-esteem, grief, aging, parenting, life-transitions, diaspora, and relationships.
My Background and Approach
In therapy we build an honest, non-judgmental sanctuary for you to unload, process, reflect, or simply be. The stories you carry – both told and untold – have shaped your life and given you meaning. Together we will work to explore and understand your inner world, deepening your sense of authentic self. In our sessions, we will integrate your desires, strengths, identities, experiences, and fears as well as challenge maladaptive patterns that contribute to suffering in order to facilitate growth and reclamation of your life. I use an insight oriented approach to therapy rooted in psychodynamic and attachment based practices to support clients in self exploration and reflection, facilitating increased self-awareness, understanding, and a deepened sense of authenticity. While doing this often longer and deeper work, I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support clients in relieving immediate suffering in alignment with their values.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In therapy we build an honest, non-judgmental sanctuary for you to unload, process, reflect, or simply be. As a therapist, I work alongside clients with warmth, compassion, honesty, and humor. Being in therapy with me is being in authentic relationship with me and I would be honored to accompany you as you engage in the therapeutic process.
