About My Clients
I have worked in community mental health spaces for over seven years, primarily meeting with individuals responding to trauma, abuse, life stress, anxiety, and depression. I have particular experience working with the LGBT community and/or survivors of sexual abuse and trauma. I am also here to support trans clients with accessing gender affirming care via therapy and letter writing.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is grounded in the ethics of Narrative Therapy. I take a non-pathologizing approach that views people as separate from problems and understands that people are responding to dominant narratives and oppression that impact their lives and relationships. I hope to build an open, curious, and collaborative environment that allows you to develop agency and supports your wellbeing. Together, we can explore your values, what is important to you, and work to develop safe and supportive ways to respond to and cope with life’s challenges if that is helpful for you.
