About My Clients
I help clients who feel angry, frustrated, afraid, or hopeless about their circumstances or chronic stressors. I take great care in providing space for those who are willing to explore and process what keeps them up at night or weighs them down day by day. You do not have to know exactly what is wrong to find healing in therapy. Together we can achieve greater understanding of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
My Background and Approach
When we ignore or deny the things that upset us most—negative feelings, unhelpful thoughts, harmful behaviors—the more power and control we give those things. Rather than eliminating or actively avoiding the causes of pain, fear, and discomfort, it is crucial that we ask why we’re avoiding the things that make us human. When we ignore the physical and cognitive messages our bodies communicate to us, we risk neglecting what our bodies need to heal and thrive, and we deny ourselves the opportunity to succeed and live a meaningful life. I strive to create and foster a collaborative counseling relationship built on trust, openness, and authenticity. Depending on your needs, our work together may focus on personal growth, self-exploration, goal-setting, and strengthening resilience. I provide individual psychotherapy for adults struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, relationships, self-esteem, and suicidal ideation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer, multiracial counselor, I practice therapy from a culturally sensitive, identity-affirmative lens to create and foster a safe therapeutic environment wherein clients can act, feel, and be their authentic selves. I enjoy helping individuals who are a part of marginalized communities and those who have intersecting identities including but not limited to queer and transgender individuals and mixed race persons.
