About My Clients
In my practice I work with children and adults. The children that I work with are often experiencing symptoms of anxiety, issues with sleep, depression, fears/existential thoughts and/or grief and loss. The adults I see are often coming in to work on anxiety, burnout, childhood trauma, life transitions and career development. My clients are as diverse as the beautiful world we live in, with folks identifying from across gender and sexual orientation spectrums, diverse ethnicities and histories.
My Background and Approach
I started out in counseling as a Crisis Counselor in Community Mental Health settings after having volunteered locally with inner city kids like me who needed extra social support in their teenage years, as well as volunteering internationally, working with communities fighting against human sex trafficking and violence against women. Each of these experiences have shaped my current day approach as a therapist which has been described as warm, engaging, mildly directive and centered around the goals my client is working on. I integrate a few different modalities, all geared towards helping my clients enrich their internal awareness of their emotions, heal attachment wounds, identify internal narratives that may be causing distress or inability to achieve desired goals and development of mindfulness based practices to help cope with day-to-day anxiety and mood management. I welcome all forms of creative expression in therapy as language doesn't necessarily capture all experiences.
