About My Clients
Are you always a little bit afraid that an anxiety attack is waiting around the corner? Have you been hit with surprise anxiety more times than you can count? I know exactly what you're feeling: the pounding chest, the shortness of breath, the feeling that the walls are closing in and you need out NOW. Attacks can be terrifying, and I don't want you to have to suffer them anymore. Holistic practices can reduce anxiety tremendously, and I look forward to teaching you tools to take your life back.
My Background and Approach
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Montclair State University in 2012, as well as my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montclair State University in 2015. I subsequently became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2015. My therapeutic approach consists of two main theoretical orientations —- Psychodynamic Theory, & Existential Approach. Each of these theories in psychology heavily influence how I view human behavior and therefore guide my approach. Psychodynamic theory guides me to believe that unresolved past conflicts influence present behavior and show up in our daily lives whether we are aware of it or not. These unresolved conflicts create unconscious thoughts, feelings and beliefs which factor into our overall mental health, and create symptoms which impact our ability to heal and grow. Insight into these past conflicts gained within therapy is beneficial toward gaining the awareness needed to help maintain overall mental health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow in whichever direction they would like to direct their energy on. I hope to be that catalyst for change through the process of therapy. I knew from an early age that I wanted to be of service and contribute to helping others, and through the practice of providing therapy to people of all walks of life, I feel like I’m accomplishing my passion and purpose in the world. I’ve spent the last 8 years creating a comfortable and safe space for my clients to facilitate insight, growth, and transformation through the process of talk therapy. Working in the mental health field has given me the honor of being able to build trust with adults, adolescents, families and couples to help enrich and expand their emotional experience. While currently maintaining my own private practice, I also have experience working in outpatient mental health agencies, as well as serving clients in an in-home therapy setting.
