Just like any other group, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) community faces mental health issues and unique challenges. However, LGBTQ individuals are almost 3 times more likely than others to experience a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety. Additionally, more than half of individuals who identify as transgender experience depression or anxiety. The LGBTQ community is also at a higher risk for suicide. Young people are even more at risk, as they may experience a lack of support at home and fear, hatred or prejudice in school. If you are a member of the LGBTQ community and are facing mental health challenges, you don’t have to suffer in silence. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s LGBTQ experts and get help today.

Clients whom I’ve worked well with are often experiencing issues such as relationship problems, work stress/burnout, life transitions, low self-esteem, emotional abuse/neglect, childhood trauma/injuries, work/secondary trauma, anxiety, depression, and self-sabotaging behaviors. I've worked with creative people, such as writers and actors, to help bring their work to fruition. I also work with people in the medical/mental health/health fields, and those that work in high-tempo environments.

As a family therapist, I am passionate about working with families and the problems that keep them from their ideal relationships. My work is generally with youth, their siblings, and caregivers. When any person in a family is struggling, it impacts everyone. If trauma has impacted a family, the strength of connection is often stretched thin. It is my hope to connect, or re-connect, youth and families to their resilience, values, and love.

The populations I specialize in counseling include people who identify within the broad LGBTQIA+ spectrums of sexual orientation and/or gender identity, persons living with HIV, polyamorous folks & others in non-monogamous or open relationships, and kinky people. I work with clients working on anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, life skills, communication skills, boundaries, assertive communication, mindfulness, relationship counseling, and life changes.

For anyone who has ever been accused of being too emotional, too sensitive, too wild; for anyone who doesn't fit into the boxes society has created; for anyone who has struggled to find their place in the world-- you are my people. Many of my clients identify within the LGBTQ+ community and are between the ages of 12 and 40.
Online Therapy
I work with adult individuals, couples, and adult groups (think: adult child and parent, adult siblings, friends, etc). I do not work with teens or children. My typical clients are interested in working through issues, invested in their growth, and are open to exploring deeper issues of life and what it means to be them. I am strongly relational in my work with clients, providing feedback, insight, and guidance in a nonjudgmental way.
Online Therapy
My clients tend to be adults living with disabilities, mental or physical health issues, neurodivergence, and or are recovering from trauma. They want to find connection and healing while living in an ableist, rigid society. They have experienced spiritual/religious abuse and want to learn to use their unique brains and bodies to support their recovery. They have a sense of humor and are open minded, using creative strategies to heal.
