Just like any other group, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) community faces mental health issues and unique challenges. However, LGBTQ individuals are almost 3 times more likely than others to experience a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety. Additionally, more than half of individuals who identify as transgender experience depression or anxiety. The LGBTQ community is also at a higher risk for suicide. Young people are even more at risk, as they may experience a lack of support at home and fear, hatred or prejudice in school. If you are a member of the LGBTQ community and are facing mental health challenges, you don’t have to suffer in silence. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s LGBTQ experts and get help today.
My clients are Adults- Teens and often are fun, intelligent and honest in what brings them in to Therapy. Sometimes they have seen other therapists and it hasn't gone as they hoped, we try again and work on identifying symptoms and treatment. My clients lead, they drive their own bus I say and I am one of the many people in their lives providing guidance and expertise in areas maybe not seen or in strengths not recognized. Healing opportunities are offered within many areas of this work.

My clients are curious about themselves and the world, take an active part in therapy, and want to make positive changes. They are open to learning new things, even if that might sometimes be challenging. Often, they are connected to marginalized communities whose mental health is impacted by societal factors. Those looking to address depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, grief, self-esteem, stress, and/or gender identity would be a good fit. I work with youth and adults ages 12+.
Online Therapy
I work with individuals, couples, and adult families from various communities, relational styles, sexual orientations, socioeconomic, racial, and ethnic identities. My clients tend to be committed to growth; often demonstrating great courage in exploring vulnerability, complex emotions, and honesty during therapy. As there is no one size fits all, psychotherapy is tailored to the specific needs and desired outcomes of the people I work with.

Our 1:1 therapy container will offer you a safe and sacred space to be seen, heard, and supported. Together we will offer space for the parts of you that have been waiting; the parts that have held their voice when told they were too loud, the emotions that have been stuffed down when told they were too big. Together we will welcome and invite all parts of you home and help them to feel connected and seen again.

I have a passion for working with the LGBTQIA+ community. I am happy to work with people at all stages of their sexuality and gender identity development including adolescents facing gender/sexual identity questions and individuals seeking medical transition. Much of my training is centered around managing symptoms resulting from trauma and guiding clients through healing. Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

Are you feeling like you have a lot to offer, but anxiety, depression, trauma, and other events get in the way? Do you feel like you are holding yourself back? Do you keep yourself busy and distracted so that you don't have to address the feelings that might arise in the stillness and quiet? I am here to help you identify, explore, and gain understanding of these barriers to move toward acceptance and appreciation of who you are, where you come from, and discover how you want to move forward.

As a family therapist, I am passionate about working with families and the problems that keep them from their ideal relationships. My work is generally with youth, their siblings, and caregivers. When any person in a family is struggling, it impacts everyone. If trauma has impacted a family, the strength of connection is often stretched thin. It is my hope to connect, or re-connect, youth and families to their resilience, values, and love.

I am well suited to help children, teens, and adultswith anxiety, depression, ADHD, school/work problems, and/or issues pertaining to sexuality and/or gender identity difficulties. Using the evidence-based practices, I help clients learn new ways to cope with difficult life problems and reunite with their core values to live their best life.

I help clients navigate issues related to mood and anxiety disorders, complex trauma and PTSD, and other major life stressors. I use an anti-oppressive lens and pay close attention to the way cultural and institutional factors impact your health. I believe that therapy is one part of a process toward connection and a sense of belonging with others.

I have a special interest in serving survivors and victims of sexual traumas and abuse. In a culture where victim blaming runs rampant, when we talk and process our experiences the light is able to shine in and we as a society move closer to a world where survivors do not need to live in shame. I am also a trained Doula and love to work with the perinatal and postpartum community. I am especially interested in exploring traumatic birth stories and supporting this healing journey.

My ideal clients are those with issues of anxiety, depression, cultural adjustment, adjusting to college, strained family relationships (especially second-generation immigrants), health-related concerns or chronic illness, and those seeking a Mandarin-speaking counselor. I specialize in working with individuals and couples to find the roots of their pains. I offer a safe space where we are free to explore how your childhood, relationships, and present environment have impacted who you are.
