A sexual problem, sometimes called a sexual dysfunction, is a problem during any phase of the sexual sexual act (such as desire, arousal or orgasm). Although many people experience trouble with sex at some point, it is a topic that many people are hesitant to discuss. There are a number of specific sexual disorders, including sexual desire disorders (low libido), sexual arousal disorders (inability to become aroused – erectile dysfunction or vaginal dryness, for example), orgasm disorders (delay or non-appearance of orgasms) and sexual pain disorders (painful intercourse, most commonly affecting women). A sexual problem can occur suddenly or develop slowly, over an extended period of time. The reasons for sexual problems can widely vary but may include factors such as fluctuating hormones, aging, stress, anxiety, depression, fatigue, diet, medications, illness or past sexual trauma. If you are dealing with sexual problems, a qualified professional therapist can help you identify the cause and help you develop ways to cope. I work with teens, young adults and adults who are trying to cope with anxiety, depression, life transitions and self-esteem building, among other concerns. My clients come to sessions with an idea of what goals they want to achieve and then we build on those goals and develop a plan to reach them. My ideal client is open to assistance and is not led by the clinician. A client led by the questions and exploration of oneself and their own values will come to well processed conclusions.

I believe that everyone is unique, with their own set of experiences, perspectives, and challenges. This individuality is what makes the therapeutic journey so personal and meaningful. When clients approach counseling with motivation, openness to self-reflection, and a commitment to growth, it creates a powerful foundation for positive change. My role is to support and guide you through this journey, helping you harness these qualities to achieve your goals and enhance your overall well-being.

My clients want to find connection in their lives, but they are struggling to do so. I work with people who have found that other therapists don’t quite understand them. I am honored to be the open and non-judgmental professional they are seeking. My clients have faced stigma, limited family support, depression, anxiety or trauma while navigating the complexities of sexuality, gender and relationships. Some have lost important relationships due sexual urges or behaviors that feel out of control.

I work with clients who are trying to understand how to accept themselves and are looking to create a strong therapeutic relationship with a counselor. I believe that clients who have acknowledged that they need help in certain areas and are looking to put in the work needed to achieve their goals are going to get the most out of our time together.
