About My Clients
Humans are growth-oriented by nature, so self-improvement is possible when the client-therapist relationship is one that holds authentic space for growth and thoughtful reflection, with genuine encouragement and absence of judgement. Navigating life's challenges can plague self-esteem, impact relationships, derail goals, create confusion, and so much more. The clients I work with are naturally curious about themselves and desire to manage their challenges through meaningful and effective ways.
My Approach to Helping
Historically I've worked with children, teens, and adults of many backgrounds. My work is grounded primarily in ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy). I'm also EMDR-trained, which for me provides valuable insight into the emotional impact on our bodies and nervous system (currently NOT conducting EMDR at this time). My foundational approach with clients is always rooted in a strengths-based and trauma-informed perspective. I believe this to be vital in establishing an effective therapeutic relationship that enhances feelings of trust and empathy, provides a sense of safety, and promotes personal confidence. My clients feel increasingly capable of managing their lives and emotional experience, and feel proud of how they show up for themselves during times of joy and setbacks alike. Everyone can benefit from therapy, whether that means working on a specific issue or to just being proactive by having a consistent outlet for growth.
Why I Became a Therapist
I believe it takes a village to be a functional person, so having an opportunity to be part of someone's "village" as they take agency of their life is an honor I never take for granted. Going even further, having said opportunity to work with someone on their wellbeing and then pairing it with purposeful reflection and safe exploration? Life-changing!
