About My Clients
My ideal client is someone who has decided that they want something different for themselves. This client is typically hurting, overwhelmed, exhausted, frustrated and in a dire need of change. This client may have symptoms of or a diagnosis of either anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, adjustment disorder, dealing with grief/loss or may be going through a divorce. This client is ready for change and is ready to live a better quality of life.
My Background and Approach
I attended Virginia State University and earned my bachelor's degree in psychology and earned my master's in clinical psychology. I am an Army Certified Resiliency Trainer, and I use a myriad of treatments based on my client's needs. My go to treatment modality is Cognitive Behavior therapy. Initially, we will address the heaviest weights in your life, and I will listen for thought themes, negative cognitive distortions and even irrational thoughts. We explore these thoughts, their possibly origins and ways to develop healthier ways of thinking to improve your outlook on your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that there is so much healing power in listening and sharing our stories with others. I believe that having a space to go where you can vent, blow off steam, be emotional and vulnerable can-do wonders. I absolutely love that I am able to create that space for my clients. I value honesty, freedom, inner peace and genuine connections. Learning to be true to myself has helped me to be loving and accepting to those I encounter.
