Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that's triggered by a traumatic, scary or dangerous event. PTSD can be caused by either witnessing or experiencing the trauma. Events that sometimes trigger PTSD include everything from sexual assault, war, and violence, to car accidents or other incidents that could cause loss of life. It is not at all uncommon for people who go through something traumatic to have temporary difficulty coping and acute symptoms, but with time, they usually get better. However, if the symptoms last longer than a month, get worse rather than better and affect your ability to function, you may be suffering from PTSD. Symptoms of PTSD may include severe anxiety, anger, nightmares, trouble sleeping, flashbacks to the event, frightening thoughts, avoidance of situations or places, feeling on edge and/or being easily startled. If you think you may be experiencing PTSD, reach out to one of TherapyDen’s specialists today to get help.
Many of my clients identify as Queer, Poly/ENM, Kink/SWers and seek to develop deeper self-awareness, connection to their identity, help with relationships, nervous system regulation, coping skills for resilience, and support processing trauma and other difficult experiences. If you are a therapist, healer, space holder, caregiver, or activist experiencing burnout, I am offering a Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy group in May that might be helpful to consider! laurafoxx.com/heal

I'm passionate about working with clients who have survived trauma, be it emotional, physical, or sexual. Your body remembers all you experienced and deserves the space to safely reprocess. I love working with children of immigrants navigating intergenerational family dynamics or cultural conflicts. Together we can weave your intersecting identities and values into the tapestry of your life. I also enjoy working with women affected by the patriarchal systems in which we are forced to exist.

I am dedicated to working with various underserved communities such as LGBTQ+, immigrants, neurodivergent, racial/cultural minorities, etc. I have diverse experience working with teens to older adults who struggle with mood disorders like depression and various forms of anxiety, low self-esteem, life transition/adaption, eating disorders, family conflict, LGBTQ+ issues, complex trauma, political unrest, racial/cultural trauma, and grief.
I blend a variety of therapeutic techniques—EMDR, CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic therapy—with a touch of humor— to create a dynamic, personalized approach to healing. Therapy is not a "one size fits all" solution, so collaborating with my clients to find what tools and strategies work best for each person is important to me. At the end of the day, you are the master of your own experience!
My previous work involved facilitating group therapy on various populations, including those with symptoms of depression, anxiety, substance abuse disorders, trauma, etc. I specialized in providing CBT, DBT, stress management, self-esteem, and a wide range of groups to meet the needs of my patients.
