Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that's triggered by a traumatic, scary or dangerous event. PTSD can be caused by either witnessing or experiencing the trauma. Events that sometimes trigger PTSD include everything from sexual assault, war, and violence, to car accidents or other incidents that could cause loss of life. It is not at all uncommon for people who go through something traumatic to have temporary difficulty coping and acute symptoms, but with time, they usually get better. However, if the symptoms last longer than a month, get worse rather than better and affect your ability to function, you may be suffering from PTSD. Symptoms of PTSD may include severe anxiety, anger, nightmares, trouble sleeping, flashbacks to the event, frightening thoughts, avoidance of situations or places, feeling on edge and/or being easily startled. If you think you may be experiencing PTSD, reach out to one of TherapyDen’s specialists today to get help.

Change is a significant source of stress in our lives. Major life changes, such as losing a loved one, moving, changing jobs, or starting a family, can lead to anxiety, loneliness, and feeling overwhelmed. Even positive transitions, like starting college, entering a new relationship, or getting married, can create stress and anxiety as we adjust to new roles and expectations. If you are experiencing stress, anxiety, or depression due to life changes or transitions, I can help.

For the last two years I have been working with clients in a hospital setting with eating disorders. Within this time I have gotten the opportunity to help those facing many challenges, not limited to eating disorders alone. I would love to help you with things like connecting to your body, giving yourself grace and compassion, and accepting your authentic self.
Most of my clients are wanting to experience greater intimacy, safety, trust, and emotional connection. However, problems arise when major events, such as infidelity or trauma, undermine trust or our ability to connect. Most commonly, clients get caught by negative reciprocal patterns that keep them feeling stuck. I help clients to understand these patterns, have meaningful conversations in session, and regain the connection necessary to overcome past hurts.
