I utilize a trauma informed approach, build a strong therapeutic relationship and provide skills to help you manage symptoms, to prepare and feel more confident in addressing what happened to you. Treatment modalities include EMDR, focused mindfulness and Ego State/parts work with embodied skills practices.

Many people I work with have experienced childhood sexual abuse. If specific memories are not available, we work with felt sense and any memories that may present as we do the work. Treatment modalities include EMDR, focused mindfulness, Ego State/parts work and embodied skills practices.

I work with people who may experience derealization, depersonalization, or don't feel connected to body, space, and/or time. Dissociation is a spectrum that ranges from very mild symptoms through to forms of dissociative identify disorder. The important thing to know is this is what we humans do, you're not"crazy." Some of us may need more help to feel grounded and/or present. Treatment modalities include EMDR with Ego State and embodied skills practices.

I am a certified eye movement and desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapist and have advanced training to incorporate trauma informed yoga into EMDR protocols. EMDR recognizes there is no separation between our bodies and our minds. Built on the adaptive information processing model that demonstrates how past adverse experiences or trauma can be so overwhelming in our current lives. EMDR is very effective treatment.

Mindfulness has multiple therapeutic benefits. I provide psychoeducation about how these practices help us to effect change within the body and mind, teach and practice specific mindfulness practices with you in session. Helping you to learn how to take a "Mindful Stance" to generalize these skills from formal practices throughout your daily life. Allowing you to develop a growing sense of compassion for yourself as you begin to be less judgmental and self-critical.

As we were born into the human race, we were born with the right to be treated with dignity and respect. The humanistic and strengths based foundations of ACT is inclusive of my deeply held beliefs, personal and professional values that I incorporate in service to assist my clients to gain new personal perspectives and incites. I integrate multiple aspects of ACT to help you recognize your strengths, choices and to develop and grow your resiliency factors.

Sometimes we need to learn more about how we think and how we can change our thinking. CBT has great tools to learn to do this, in addition to developing emotional skills and regulation. If needed, I will fold CBT skills into EMDR treatments.

I am a phase I and II trained therapist. Brainspotting is a way to use our eyes to treat trauma memories stored in our brain. Many of these memories may be in the subcortical layers, where we feel it, but may not have words for it. Our eyes can help us to reach these memories, gently, to heal and grow.

ACT is a mindfulness based therapy that helps us to see ourselves through a nonjudgmental and self-compassionate lens. We are our harshest judges, but by learning to be kinder to ourselves we can achieve the goals we have on this journey to recover, heal and grow.
