The term self-esteem refers to our overall subjective emotional evaluation of our own worth – in other words, it’s your attitude towards yourself. Self-esteem begins to take shape in childhood and can be influenced by many factors, including early experiences at home or school, familial relationships, the media, your age and role in society and how people react to you. It is totally normal for your self-esteem to fluctuate – for example feeling down about yourself once in awhile. However, most individuals develop a baseline self-esteem that remains fairly constant over the course of their lifetimes. If you are struggling with low self-esteem, you likely spend significant time criticizing yourself and you may experience frequent feelings of shame and self-doubt. The good news is that, with work, you can change your baseline self-esteem. Therapy for self-esteem issues can help you work toward feeling confident, valuable, and worthy of respect. I specialize in working with adults and young adults experiencing anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and co-morbid depression. Also, I have significant experience working with individuals in high stress professional careers and highly technical fields. I'm neurodiversity-affirming and also specialize in (clinical) diagnosis of adults with ADHD and exploring the resulting life impacts, particularly when unrecognized as a young person.

I believe it is important to be aware of the varying identities that make up an individual and how it shapes their experiences. I welcome and celebrate my clients of all identities. I enjoy working with people who want to work on anxiety, depression, chronic illnesses, caregivers of aging adults, and people grieving losses.

I'm a neurodivergent, disabled TCK with a dark sense of humor, and I often swear in session. I’m deeply empathetic and brutally honest. I especially love working with other neurodivergent adults (18+), HSPs, spoonies/zebras, gamers, LGBTQIA+ folx, and anyone who doesn’t fit society’s standard mold. I also specialize in helping people who have been harmed or neglected by the medical system, those with invisible illnesses/disabilities, and those who are still searching for a diagnosis.
