My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is eclectic and draws from a variety of techniques including traditional psychodynamic principles and evidence-based practices that include Cognitive-Behavioral, Acceptance-Based, and Mindfulness principles. My approach is active, dynamic, and interactive rooted in trust, empathy, and acceptance within the therapeutic relationship. I work collaboratively with clients to explore issues, establish goals, and build upon existing strengths to cultivate growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My experience consists of working in outpatient and hospital-based settings with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma/PTSD, learning/attention issues, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. I specialize in integrating music and expressive arts to help cultivate therapeutic growth. In addition to clinical work, I am actively involved with research, and am a PhD Candidate and Adjunct Instructor at NYU’s Silver School of Social Work.
