About My Clients
I work primarily with neurodivergent children, adolescents and adults (couples and families also) to address the challenges of growing up different. I work with Autistic individuals and Attention Differences (ADHD) and address Anxiety, Depression, Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, Impostor Syndrome, Demand Avoidance, Sensory Processing challenges, Executive Functioning Challenges, Social Communication challenges, life changes, interpersonal communications in relationships and workplace challenges.
My Background and Approach
My perspective is neurodiversity affirming, LGBTQIA+ affirming, Trauma Informed, and person centered. My approach is unconditional positive regard, and this makes my clients feel quickly at ease, even if they have never been in therapy previously. I believe my clients are the experts in their lives and see my role as that of a guide toward growth, insight and improvement. My clients find being heard & accepted calming and affirming. I ask lots of questions but also love to listen. I work from a holistic stance (CBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness) to help clients address a wide range of challenges (work, relationships and life changes, anxiety, depression, self love).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all do the best we can with the emotional and life resources we have acquired within our lives up to the present moment. We all have the capacity to grow and learn and there is no limit to what we can accomplish when we set our minds to it. Being a neurodivergent, LatinX woman myself and not learning about my neurodivergence until adulthood, I had a full range of experience about what it is like to be different and feel like an outsider. It is this awareness that propels me to support others and create a safe space where my clients can be themselves and grow from there. On busy days in between sessions you can find me enjoying sunshine in nature, on my hammock cloud-spotting, or watching anime, although I have many special interests.
