About My Clients
A lot of my current clients express feeling overwhelmed, apathetic, lack of focus, and my hope is that we can create space to feel the feelings (and normalize them), process them, and then set goals around your stressors so that things feel more manageable. I work best with folks who are looking for an objective observer to their life, an active participant in this discussion, and with those who are open to curious feedback.
My Background and Approach
I hold a Masters Degree in Social Work from Portland State University and a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). I specialize in treating young adults and adults with anxiety, depression, impulsivity, knowledgeable of issues facing LGTBQIA2S+and gender questioning folks, I have training and clinical experience in Interpersonal Neurobiology, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and I utilize Attachment and Family Systems Theories.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a social worker for over 20 years, I treat the whole body and we can discuss more in depth how the world around you including family, friends, culture, and capitalism has shaped you as an individual. I am an ally for the LGBTQIA2S+ community and I practice as a sex positive therapist familiar with the complexities of atypical interpersonal and romantic non-monogamous relationships.
