About My Clients
Do you feel stressed out, anxious, depressed, misunderstood, or isolated in your relationships or life? The people I work with know an important shift needs to happen in their lives. That is why I aim to provide clients with a therapeutic experience that will lead to meaningful and lasting growth. Therapy will be a collaborative process of guided discovery, and my approach centers around empathy, authenticity, and respect for you as a person. I welcome individuals from all walks of life.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in assessment and multiple therapeutic approaches (e.g., DBT, CBT, ACT). Our first goal is for you to better understand what is happening for you when you are feeling stressed out, anxious, worried, depressed, or alone. Then we will develop a plan with specific goals for treatment. We will regularly examine treatment to make sure it is working for you and we will have a clear focus on solving the problems in your life by better understanding your mental states (e.g., thoughts, emotions, wishes, desires, reasons, and purposes). Education: Harvard University (MA, PhD), McLean Hospital (pre-doctoral training), Minneapolis VA (internship), Chicago DBT Institute (post-doctoral training) Area of specialty: personality disorders, alcohol/substance use, trauma, relationship issues, persistent anxiety & depression, work stress.
