Hi, I'm Emily (she/they). I am a queer, neurodivergent & disabled, Chamorro & white woman. I currently provide counseling through OKSRI

About My Clients

I provide counseling to individuals, couples, and multi-partnered systems from all walks of life that is trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, inclusive of disability, kink-aware and sex-positive, client-focused, nonmonogamy-friendly, and sex-worker allied. My main areas of focus include: complex trauma, neurodivergence, sex & relationships, chronic illness & disability, minority stress, issues related to systemic oppression, misdiagnosis/suspected diagnosis, and therapy/medical trauma.

My Background and Approach

My approach to therapy is flexible, human, and transparent. I use a developmental approach that considers your entire life experience - not just the present, and I enjoy using a combination of IFS (Internal Family Systems), RCT (Relational Cultural Theory), ACT (Acceptance & Commitment), Narrative, and DBT (Dialectical Behavior). I use a non-pathologizing lens that focuses on strengths, rather than deficits, and considers the intersections of your identity and your unique experience. I aim to create balance in the therapeutic space through empathetic listening, psychoeducation, and guiding clients to stand proud in their authenticity and own their truth.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I chose to become a counselor because I believe everyone – regardless of circumstance – deserves to have fulfilling relationships and experience life to the fullest. And I am a survivor who knows how difficult it can be to find a therapist who feels safe, understanding, and trustworthy - especially if you've been hurt time and time again. The aim of my practice is to ensure a safe and supportive space in which you feel respected on your journey. I am a firm believer in queer and disability rights, neurodiversity-affirming care, decriminalization of sex work, environmentalism, and the Black Lives Matter movement. I believe that Black rights, queer rights, disability rights, and more are rights for ALL. We all deserve to live peacefully and accessibly, and I hope my work can be a small part of the change that our world needs.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
