About My Clients
It looks like you have it together. People don't see that you often feel defeated and misunderstood. There are times you feel like you don't even understand yourself. You love the people around you, but you feel irritable and lonely. You try to make changes to help yourself feel better, but nothing seems to work. You feel tired, disappointed, and are secretly worried that you are the problem. You are ready to try something new.
My Background and Approach
I understand what it's like to want change but not know how to get there. I believe in working in collaboration with clients and see my clients as experts in their lives. My job is to help clients recognize their strengths, cultivate self-awareness, and learn to maintain progress. I do this through an integrative approach to meet clients' unique needs. I hope you will gain new insights during sessions while allowing for growth outside of sessions where you put what you have learned into practice. I specialize in helping people improve relationships - be that their relationship with others or themselves. I hope that I can help you build the confidence, compassion, and skills you need to get where you want to be in your life. With a collaborative, strength-based, and tailored approach for each client, I am confident we can get you where you need to be while working together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that change in therapy results for a variety of reasons. Some examples include neuroplasticity, the development of new skills, and insights gathered throughout the process. Through this process, people can take the time to get to know themselves better and make a commitment to healing. Seeking help takes a tremendous amount of courage and commitment. I may not have lived your unique experience, but I do know what it's like to feel anxious, depressed, and to be a client seeking therapy. At times it can feel overwhelming -- It's common to experience vulnerability when asking for help. While uncertainty often accompanies the unknown, it can also feel empowering to trust yourself in this process. I invite you to embrace hope for change, despite the uncertainty. Together we can reframe that uncertainty and find the excitement in what is possible.
