About My Clients
Anxiety and depression are mental health issues that can affect just about anyone and impact self esteem, relationships, work life, and even physical health. Clients tend to come to me when they feel stuck and their old go-to strategies are coming up short. Together, we sort out where they're coming from, where they are now, and most important... where they want to go. Great talk therapy can be a real game changer, and I love to help my clients transform their lives.
My Background and Approach
I am a Northwestern University educated psychodynamic psychotherapist, which is really just a fancy way of saying I take into account all aspects of my client's lives. In our work together we will explore your past, present, and future, and discover ways for you to manifest the life you really want.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe mental health care can save lives. We all have work to do, and we all deserve someone who is completely invested in our well being to do it with. I became a therapist after my son's tragic suicide in 2004. Since then, I've come to understand that support from a compassionate, attuned professional can not only pull us out of our darkest places, but can actually help us see where the light comes in. My personal experiences with grief, anxiety, and depression add a level of depth to my work that I am proud to share. Not surprisingly, I am an outspoken advocate for suicide prevention and education, as well as for excellent mental care as a basic human right.
