About My Clients
I specialize in helping clients whose work dissatisfaction is affecting their emotional well-being and causing stress, anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties. I also help women who are navigating infertility. I offer premarital counseling to interfaith, intercultural/racial, and same-sex and queer couples. I also specialize in helping first-generation and/or minoritized college students who are having difficulty navigating college life.
My Background and Approach
Counseling should be a safe place for you to be honest and share openly about your successes, failures, joy, and pain without feeling judged. When you feel safe with your counselor, you can start looking inward and being honest about who you are and who you want to become. I am a down-to-earth, open-minded, and doctoral trained Licensed Professional Counselor experienced in working with diverse adolescents and adults. My approach to counseling is empowering, LGBTQ+ affirming, culturally inclusive, and body and fat positive. I believe that wellness, relationship satisfaction, and work satisfaction are possible for all bodies and backgrounds. I approach therapy genuinely, collaboratively, and with a sense of humor. Beginning counseling is an act of courage and strength. You owe it to yourself to take the next step in starting this journey, and it is a privilege for me to walk along with you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the dignity of every human being and that our differences are avenues for appreciation, respect, and joy. Additionally, I recognize how faith and religion can be helpful for many people, but also how religious institutions have been harmful to many marginalized populations. I recognize the difficulty that same-sex and queer couples, interfaith, and intercultural/racial couples face when trying to find premarital counseling that is not focused in one specific religious belief, culture, or value. Because of this, I offer an affordable premarital counseling package specializing in working with interfaith, intercultural and interracial, and same-sex and queer couples.
