My Background and Approach
I hold a bachelor's degree in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's studies with a minor in psychology from the University of California Davis. I am now a MA clinical intern in Couples and Family Therapy at Antioch University while specializing in sex therapy. I combine my undergraduate degree with my master's level work in order to bring intersectional approaches to my work. I offer low-cost virtual sessions ($60 for 50 minutes and $80 for 80 minutes) to couples and individuals (13+). I strive to empower clients in their therapy journeys by using a collaborative model. I work from a client-centered approach and attachment lens. My work incorporates Emotion Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy. However, I believe in finding the theory that works for the client, so I constantly adjust as needed. I feel passionate about providing LGBTQQIA+ affirmative, anti-racist, body-positive, and trans-identity-affirming care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapy must be holistic and person-centered to match our unique set of lived experiences and strengths. Because of this, I gravitate towards a strengths-based lens and incorporate aspects of the mind, spirit, and body throughout my work with clients to the degree you are comfortable with. My theoretical approach is driven by narrative therapy, attachment work, and emotion-focused therapy. What all this means is that I wholeheartedly believe that people possess the resources to effect change in their lives, and I would be honored to join you in that journey of change!
