I'm a member of the queer community and dedicated to supporting us in all our glitter-tastic glory! Wherever you are in your journey--rethinking an aspect of your gender expression or where you express yourself; coming out to family members you have been avoiding or see everyday, or some other aspect of your life and relationship with yourself, I want to support you.

I LOVE talking about boundaries and healthy communication. It is probably the steady diet of teenage television relationships from the CW with all its unhealthy relationships, incredibly bad boundaries, and awful communication tropes, but I want to unpack all the lessons our culture has taught us about love, dating, and sex. Also I come to this work with 7 years experience doing healthy relationships clinical work. We can help you break unhealthy patterns as an individual, couple, or polycule.

I believe most people deal with anxiety sometimes. It can be situational or general, mild or incredibly intense. Most importantly though, anxiety CAN be managed. I do think that it's important to find the right therapist to work with though. So if your anxiety is severe and you think we might be a good fit, please reach out. Whatever level of anxiety you are dealing with, I would love to talk with you about how to support you.

I love using mindfulness techniques because there are only 2 goals-- and you can't fail at either. The first goal is to try and be present to what's happening around you right now-- because you can't change the past and you can't stop the future, but maybe if you're paying attention you can change something now. The second goal is to not judge yourself when you inevitably get distracted from focusing on the now or when you judge yourself for judging yourself. It helps clients cope better.

I often find CBT helpful as a tool alongside other types of therapy. If you like steps and worksheets, I can give you assignment style CBT work. Alternatively, we can also incorporate CBT concepts to help you be more aware of and interrupt negative beliefs and thinking. For folks who deal with depression and anxiety, CBT can often be a really helpful tool.
