About My Clients

The realities of ongoing trauma and oppression may leave you feeling stuck, frozen or disconnected. And you might also feel a call deep within yourself, a sense that there is more joy and aliveness yet to unfold, more you are longing to become. Those of us who are survivors of embodied trauma may have a gut feeling that just talking about an experience isn’t going to transform what happened in body, mind and spirit. Somatic therapy can offer holistic tools for healing and resistance.

My Background and Approach

Somatics derives from the Latin word for “soma,” meaning the “living energy in the body.” Somatic therapy sessions are an opportunity to connect to the wisdom present in your body and spirit. As we practice together in our sessions, we cultivate presence and capacity to feel ourselves and each other, and to live into the changes we want in our lives and in our world. Some examples of somatics in session… Centering our work around what most matters to you and how you want to be. Exploring present moment sensation, breath and movement at your own pace. Engaging with experiential, embodied practices with attention to accessibility and consent. Sharing stories and drawing from your own embodied knowledge; following your body’s impulses about how to heal. Working relationally, meaning that I will be real with you and connect in our shared humanness. I bring humility, curiosity, reverence and a sense of humor. I practice through Axis Mundi Center for Mental Health.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a trans somatic therapist dedicated to the dignity, wholeness, and power of trans and queer people as an innate part of work for collective liberation. Through embodied awareness and intentional practice, I offer space to ground in what most deeply matters to you, and act from that place more of the time in your life and relationships. I bring humility, curiosity, reverence and a sense of humor to my practice. My therapy practice is informed by over ten years as a community mediator and organizer inside of social and environmental justice movements.
