About My Clients
I serve teens, college students, and young adults who are struggling with substance use, severe depression, history of trauma, are adopted, difficulties with relationships, self-injurious behaviors, and anxiety. I know how imperative it is to have someone outside of your friends and family to process life with. These time periods of life are especially challenging and I know it is common to feel misunderstood and out of place.
My Background and Approach
I began working with these age groups early in my life and have seen that I am able to deeply connect with them and assist in implementing effective change. I have completed trainings in DBT, CBT, and Interpersonal Neurobiology, and I also integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) into my work. I am trauma-informed and attachment-focused. I believe that our earliest life experiences shift who we become in our lives, and that we are not stuck in those experiences. We are able, with a trusted, safe, and secure person, to overcome the obstacles and experiences that have taken away our inner strengths and power.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all persons, regardless of age, race, spiritual beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, and cultural background deserve a space to be their most authentic and raw self. I believe this is critical for change to occur- to let the walls down and let someone else in. I know that society fails us in many ways and breaches its own set of unique challenges to individuals. I am especially relational in my approach, meaning I prioritize this piece of the therapeutic process. I want to know you, your story, and your goals. What is a priority to you?
