About My Clients
I enjoy working with adults that are motivated to make meaningful changes to address challenges in their lives and want to move beyond surviving to thriving. I strive to create a therapeutic space in which people feel safe to be vulnerable and affirmed in their experiences. I am passionate about supporting folks to better manage anxiety, depression, race based stress and trauma, cultural identity issues and major life transitions.
My Background and Approach
Over the past 10+ years, I have provided mental health support to families, groups and individuals through in home therapy, hospitals and outpatient settings. My approach emphasizes a collaborative process and based on the client's needs. I am grounded in cultural responsiveness and values centered. It is important for me to support clients with developing practical tools to help them regulate and cope. I am sensitive to how societal issues may impact folks. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, self compassion and mindfulness techniques. My goal is to help you feel confident in navigating challenges.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone deserves a space to process their experiences. I also believe that we all have the capacity for growth and can unlearn unhealthy patterns that negatively impact us. You are the expert in your life and a therapist is partner who can provide a different perspective. I regularly consult with colleagues when needed and accept that I have limitations. It is crucial for me to make space for my own self care through my own individual therapy, music, reading, beach trips and cooking.
