About My Clients
I work with older teens and young adults to support with issues related to "adulting" and all the transitions that come along with it. My clients typically need help with identity development, family conflict, attention issues, anxiety, substance use, creating boundaries, managing relationships, & other challenges.
My Background and Approach
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a Masters in Counseling Psychology who has been doing therapy for 20 years. Before starting my private practice, I worked in a variety of settings in the mental health field- schools, clinics, and nonprofits, to name a few. For 10 years I worked as a school-based therapist for students ages 5-19, specializing in working with youth who were struggling with anxiety, school-based perfectionism, family relational trauma and substance use. In my work I use a blend of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. And I use humor a lot, and drop the occasional 4-letter word when the moment is right. Most of all, I am here for you: neutral, outside of your family/social circle, understanding and consistent.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a LGBTQIA+ affiliated & affirming therapist, I create the safest space I can for my clients. If you'd like to see if we might be a good fit for therapy, please reach out! I offer a free consultation call and can also give referrals if you're in need of something different.
