My Background and Approach
I graduated in 2023 with a masters of science degree in counseling mental health counseling and have spent two years working at the LGBTQIA+ Center, where I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community. My time there has been deeply transformative, as I’ve provided therapy to individuals navigating identity, relationships, trauma, and mental health challenges. Working in this setting has allowed me to understand the unique pressures faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, from discrimination to family rejection, and how these experiences impact mental well-being. Through my work, I’ve developed a strong foundation in providing affirming care and creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can heal and thrive. My approach is rooted in empathy, cultural humility, and a deep commitment to social justice. I’m passionate about helping individuals navigate their mental health journeys while embracing and celebrating their authentic selves.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, I believe in creating a safe, inclusive, and affirming space where individuals can explore their identities, heal from trauma, and build meaningful lives. As an active member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand the importance of representation and validation in mental health care. I am committed to social justice, supporting Black Lives Matter, and addressing the systemic inequalities that impact mental well-being. I actively work with individuals negatively impacted by the housing crisis and increasing wealth disparity, recognizing the deep connection between mental health and housing stability. Additionally, I have volunteered with foster youth, providing guidance and support to those navigating complex systems and life transitions. My approach is rooted in empathy, advocacy, and empowerment, helping clients not only heal but also feel seen, valued, and supported in all aspects of their identity and lived experiences.
