About My Clients
I enjoy working with gender and sexually diverse folks, clients who have experienced interpersonal violence, homelessness, HIV+. I am most useful working with folks struggling with gender/sexuality, substance use, Dual Disorders, life transitions, trauma, Anxiety and disordered eating We would be a good fit if you are ready to put in the hard work to heal yourself.
My Background and Approach
I received my Master of Social Work degree from University of Pittsburgh, with a certificate in Integrated Healthcare. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I practice from a whole person and systems approach. This means I find it important to address not only our personal responsibility to our health but also the impact oppressive structures can have as well. Interventions I most often utilize may include Harm Reduction, DBT, IFS informed and EMDR. I also offer low barrier letters for gender affirming care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a Fat, Gay, Non-Binary clinician, I know the power that lived experience can bring to a session. I believe you are more than a diagnosis, body size, or who you love. I treat each client as an individual with a rich history of stories to share. I feel privileged to bear witness to your experience. As a white Social Worker I hold space for the harm Social Work has caused to the global majority . I work to dismantle these ideas in my practice. In my personal life, I enjoy kayaking, and buying books I will never read. I practice "joyful" movement by chasing my dog down to remove whatever object she is trying to eat.
