Sometimes a moment, or moments, in your life will haunt you. It can make you feel disconnected, like a stranger to yourself and your life. Or feel overwhelmed and worry about some unknown thing? Do you feel like you are looking over your shoulder for danger? I know how hard those feelings can be and how heavy they can feel. I offer the space to work through these feelings so you can feel grounded in your life.
My Background and Approach
No matter how long you have been feeling haunted by your past, you have the power to heal and learn ways to make your life better again. You are enough, you are worthy and you deserve to invest in yourself to create safety in life again. I will help you get to know the parts of yourself that are still hurting and support you in nurturing yourself. I have worked extensively with survivors of trauma and how to move forward in your life. I have worked with people in a hospital setting to outpatient and everything in between. I attend a yearly trauma conference to keep my knowledge and skills up to date. My favorite therapy to use is Internal Family Systems Informed Therapy. It allows everyone to nurture and understand our lives and different aspects of ourselves. We all have different roles in life, mother, daughter, friend, therapist, wife. And all those roles need different skills and reactions. IFS allows you to get to know all the different parts of our internal world.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all have the power to change and grow when given the space and environment to let it happen. Everything we do, even the things we hate that we do, is for a reason. I believe understanding the reason helps us to make powerful changes.
