About My Clients

I work with gay men navigating challenges such as sexual orientation, HIV disclosure, relationship conflicts, trauma, and coming out to family. My clients often struggle with self-acceptance, shame, or isolation, and may use coping strategies that no longer serve them. Through therapy, we explore identity, heal past wounds, and build the skills needed for healthy relationships. Together, we work toward authenticity, self-compassion, and creating a more fulfilling life.

My Background and Approach

I'm dedicated to helping gay men navigate life transitions, heal trauma, and embrace all parts of themselves. My personal experiences as a trauma and cancer survivor, as well as someone in recovery from addiction, give me unique insight into overcoming adversity. I understand the feelings of being trapped by your past, facing fear, and using substances to numb pain. As a member of the Latinx and LGBTQ+ communities, I know the weight of marginalization and hiding your authentic self. While our experiences may differ, these aspects of my journey help me connect with our shared humanity. This understanding builds a strong therapeutic relationship where we can work together toward healing and growth. In therapy, I use evidence-based practices like ACT, CBT, and EMDR to address trauma, negative thoughts, and emotional challenges, helping you gain clarity and self-compassion. I’m here to guide you as others have guided me, offering support as you begin your journey toward healing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My personal journey through psychotherapy helped me uncover unprocessed pain and discover my inner strength. I maintain balance through meditation, yoga, and books like The Power of Now and Daring Greatly. I believe we all have the power to change, and that psychotherapy shines a light on our hidden strengths. Society often shames men for expressing emotion, but there is no shame in being vulnerable or seeking help. As gay men, we don’t always recognize the immense strength required to live authentically, whether in or out of the closet, navigating relationships, or managing HIV. My practice focuses on supporting gay individuals and couples, helping them build skills to create fulfilling lives and relationships. I believe that deep down, we already possess the tools we need to thrive—we just need a guide to help us rediscover them. My calling is to be the guide I wish I had in my own life journey.
