About My Clients
Do you have issues just being you? Life can be hard for those of us who identify as LGBTQIA. My clients are members of the LGBTQIA community and have issues like everyone else, but very few options exist for care. My clients may need help with gender transition. Having to transition to a gender we really are can be difficult, but it's necessary. My clients may struggle with anxiety and depression or trauma symptoms.
My Background and Approach
I help people overcome obstacles to live their best life and become who they want to be, restoring their belief in themselves. I am a non-judgmental counselor who can help you find that connection again as we collaborate on what you need. I provide a safe space for you to tell your story and I am honored to hear it. The human connection is an important one and when it’s lost, you feel a need to get it back. Maybe you have lost energy or sense of self. I believe I can help you see that you have value in relationships and life. There are so many intertwined parts of ourselves and many parts to your overall sense of self. When you are ready, please reach out via e-mail or phone call if in Vermont.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that people can be helped but they must welcome the help. It's hard to accept assistance and someone to talk to sometimes, especially when we are down. I have helped people who have lost the ability to think because of substance use, but they too can rise above and choose to live. As a trans-woman, I see the work of a therapist as gratifying and the work has strengthened my belief system. However, I see the advocacy part as larger than I thought it could be as we have seen so many laws passed impacting trans-people in a negative way. Being an advocate means working with a population that I see as needing my support.
