About My Clients
I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and trauma histories. I especially enjoy serving the LGBTQ population. Some of my clients are also navigating new aspects of identity, life transitions, relationship issues, or concerns about perfectionism. If you are seeking stage 2 DBT, are a high achiever, were once saddled with the "gifted and talented" label, or hope your therapist will get some nerdy references, I may be a good fit. My Background and Approach
Therapy offers a space for healing, growth, and change. I honor the knowledge and wisdom you bring from your experiences. My role is to partner with you to explore what is and is not working for you, understanding that there may be personal and societal barriers to a gratifying life. I use an eclectic perspective, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Relational Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. In addition, I am Advanced and Enhanced trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy trained. In practice, this looks like prioritizing a strong therapeutic relationship, offering tools to reframe patterns of thinking, create positive behavior change, navigate existential distress, and explore alternatives to stories that may be causing you harm. I also utilize embodiment practices, mindfulness and self-compassion to restore self-trust and improve focus and attention.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Some identities I hold are cis-queer femme. I'm fat bodied and practice from a HAES perspective. I recognize my privileged identities, such as race, and strive to bring cultural humility and a justice framework in my practice.
