About My Clients
I often tell my clients that my goal is to get them to the place in their lives where they no longer need to see a psychiatrist! I want them to achieve their personal goals in connectivity and relational happiness and I want to work together with them to achieve that.
My Background and Approach
I use a combination of medications and therapeutic modalities to help each client achieve their mental health goals. I believe that lifestyle, nutrition and also physical health all interplay to influence mental health. I am here to support clients in whatever stage they are in with compassion and empathy. I look at environmental, social, psychological, and biological forces and use this holistic view when collaborating on a course of treatment for an individual. For adults, I treat psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, mania, OCD, impulse disorders, psychotic disorders, ADHD and substance use disorders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I've spent most of my career working in the non-profit sector delivering both psychiatric and medical care to an underserved population. I have over a decade of experience working with people with complex mental health disorders and substance use in inpatient, crisis, and outpatient settings. Alongside my private practice, I am also faculty and Behavioral Health Curriculum Director at Lifelong Medical's Family Medicine Residency Program. My passion is teaching and mentoring both residents and medical students from bay area medical schools and residencies. I believe the best way I can contribute to healthcare equality is mentoring and educating the next generation of therapists and providers become the mental health practitioners they can be.
