I have worked with a variety of clients regarding the emotions felt around the divorce process at every stage-filing, mediation, and the aftermath. I understand the need for a rediscovery of self following a divorce and the fear, sadness, and possible excitement that may come with starting over. I have also worked with clients who are going through custody battles or have experienced trauma as a result of either the marriage or the divorce itself.

After spending nearly a decade working in long term care and providing both skilled rehab and hospice services, I have seen it all. I'm no stranger to the pain that comes with watching a loved one (or yourself!) grow older. Not only will I be there for you to discuss the emotions associated with aging, chances are I may be able to assist you in walking through next steps for your loved one as they continue to change.

I have worked with women in a wide variety of issues including anxiety around pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum woes, body image and self-esteem issues, trouble with sexual performance or anxiety around intimacy (related to either physical or emotional issues), abortions, hysterectomies and SA survival.

I firmly believe everyone usually has the answers inside themselves but they need help to detangle them. Ever heard the phrase "you can't see the forest for the trees"? Chances are that's happening a lot. Solution Focused Brief Therapy hones in on tackling your goals with realistic and achievable interventions that empower you and allow you to recognize you have power over your perspective. You'd be surprised how fast you can overcome something once you put your mind to it!

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (a mouthful, I know)-is a technique that allows you to move through traumatic memories with the intention of experiencing calm or neutral emotions towards them. It's a technique I was trained on through the EMDR Center of the Rockies and it's a modality I have found helps with a variety of issues, from discovering infidelity to the death of a loved one to car accidents and beyond. It's truly amazing how well this treatment works!

I find couples work to be very thrilling and fulfilling! You fell in love for a reason and you want to make it work (or go your separate ways!) for a reason. My job is to help both of you express yourselves in a safe, non-biased setting and allow for true understanding to be had. It should never feel like two against one in couples counseling, and I always strive to give each partner the chance to emote and be heard in a plain but powerful way.
