About My Clients
I accompany clients on their journey who have depression, anxiety, trauma, body image issues, low self-worth, struggles with boundary setting, and the profound journey of healing their inner wounds and discovering the intrinsic worth that is within them. I approach therapy with deep empathy and a genuine desire to understand your unique experiences, acknowledging and honoring the entirety of who you are.
My Background and Approach
I am an APC (Associate Professional Counselor) working toward her full licensure. I received my M.Ed from the University of Georgia which is also where I received my training as a therapist including learning how to tailor the therapeutic skills, techniques, and interventions in a way that will aid each individual client. To meet your unique needs, I utilize various therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and expressive techniques while working from a person-centered orientation. There is no "one size fits all" intervention for every client so I implement the intervention that suits each client's needs best.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is extremely important for me to be a safe space for any client who comes into contact with me. For me, that means that there is no judgment, there is full acceptance, and I view every client with an unconditional positive regard. As a Black woman, I have had experience with prejudice and discrimination and I know that our society perpetuates the mistreatment of the marginalized. For an hour every week, my space is one that not only is safe for folks with any and all of the following lived identity experiences: Black, Indigenous, POC (people of color), disabled, neurodivergent, body love and acceptance, and LGBTQ; but one where you will be celebrated.
