Lissa specializes in treating anxiety, depression, mood, shame, grief, difficulties with life transitions and interpersonal challenges, and trauma including complex, race-based, and intergenerational trauma. It is Lissa’s goal to provide a non-judgmental, compassionate, and affirming approach that allows clients to feel safe. All are welcome, including those identifying as BIPOC and LGBTQIA+. Those who are empaths, artists, and highly sensitive are welcome. Come as you are.
My Background and Approach
Lissa is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) as well as a certified yoga, qigong, and meditation teacher. They provide psychiatric evaluation, psychopharmacology, and body-centered and mindfulness-based psychotherapy. Lissa is trained in the following modalities: Indigenous Focusing-Oriented Therapy (IFOT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, integrative medicine approaches, and medication management (utilizing the lowest medication dose possible).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Lissa shares practices that are compassionate, justice-oriented, and trauma-informed for the wellness and liberation of all beings. Lissa is particularly moved to work with populations less likely to have exposure or access to contemplative practices.
