About My Clients
I work with people to help them gain a deeper understanding of their past and present so that they can move through the world with more authenticity and connection. People often come to me when they are struggling to feel connected to themselves and others. Sometimes this can look like anxiety, low self-worth, isolation, or depression, other times it can be a general sense that something is "off." I will work collaboratively with you to understand your unique experience and move towards healing.
My Background and Approach
I believe that relationships form the foundation from which we heal. I pay close attention to building trust and connection in the therapeutic relationship so that I can offer support that is meaningful to you. I practice psychodynamic and attachment-based therapy which means that I am interested in helping you understand how your past impacts your present and shift patterns that are no longer serving you. My approach is trauma informed and client-centered, meaning we will move at your pace and ensure that the space is what you need it to be. I earned my Masters in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and remain engaged in continuing education in psychodynamic and relational therapy. I have advanced training in EMDR and Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals and couples.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My practice is rooted in harm-reduction and a firm belief that we all deserve access to affirming mental health care. I recognize the way that systems impact our mental health and work with clients to support them in understanding their unique experiences. I am a queer clinician and particularly enjoy working with queer individuals and relationships of all structures. If it sounds like we might be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out. I look forward to learning more about you!
