Feminist therapy is a therapeutic approach grounded in feminist theory and philosophy. Central to this approach is the idea that women may experience mental health issues as a result of psychological oppression. In feminist therapy, the therapist and client are equals – the therapist's knowledge of psychology and the client's knowledge of herself come together to embrace the client's strengths. Feminist therapists seek to recognize and understand the client's socioeconomic and political situation, and are typically personally invested in ending oppression, empowering women and girls, and working toward social change. Think this approach might be right for you? Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s feminist therapy specialists today.

Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), serious mental illnesses, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to help. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, validated, and empowered to take meaningful steps toward change. My clients often come to therapy seeking clarity, relief, and genuine growth through the development of insight.

My clients are often people who feel out of step with mainstream life. Many of them practice ethical non-monogamy or identify as kinky. Some are gender fluid, or transitioning. About half see me individually while the others see me together with their partner(s). We focus on a wide variety of topics related to relationships, sex and intimacy, communication, and conflict resolution.

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

Trauma shows up in unexpected ways and is often an underlying factor and/or outcome in several unwanted feelings and behaviors. Add neurodiversity in a world that wants us all to fit in the same box and it's a recipe for internalized shame. Let's talk! I can shine a light on some parts of self you likely haven't been introduced to yet. And together, we will uncover and utilize your own best assets! Quality of Life improvements can typically be seen within 1-3 months.

I tend to find the most success working with folks who are seeking more out of life than mainstream American society implies is possible. If you’ve always felt that there’s some piece missing but you can’t quite put your finger on it, if you feel you have a calling but you haven’t discovered it yet, if you are highly empathic or experience sensations beyond those of our five senses, or if you are on a spiritual path, we are likely a good fit for one another.

The couples, partners, and individuals I work with have various presenting concerns and intersecting identities, but many of them are Latinx/Latina, polyamorous, kinky, neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+ and/or QTPOC. I am passionate about supporting folks who have experienced personal, systemic, sexual, and relational difficulties due to traumatic life events (including systemic oppression) with somatic modalities and techniques to help increase regulation, pleasure, intimacy, ease, and sexual wellness.
