Somatic therapy, also sometimes known as body-centered therapy, refers to approaches that integrate a client’s physical body into the therapeutic process. Somatic therapy focuses on the mind-body connection and is founded on the belief that viewing the mind and body as one entity is essential to the therapeutic process. Somatic therapy practitioners will typically integrate elements of talk therapy with therapeutic body techniques to provide holistic healing. Somatic therapy is particularly helpful for those trying to cope with abuse or trauma, but it is also used to treat issues including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship problems, grief, or addiction, among others. Think this approach might be right for you? Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s somatic therapy experts today.

I work with women who struggle with blended high/low self esteem. To the outside world, we are successful and have our shit together. Except we are masters at hiding pain. Inside, we have a black hole filled with guilt, shame, and feeling unworthy. We feel stress managing family, life, career, relationships, and don't feel good enough. We explore the beliefs and patterns that impact our daily life. The goal is to free ourselves from our past.

I believe that you are the expert on you and I serve as a guide, and when necessary, an empathetic teacher to help you recover/reinvent components of your life. I help people understand how thoughts and emotions influence health and happiness. I support them in gaining new insight. I teach people how to be embodied in their body. I help individuals cultivate or deepen their sense of spirituality. I assist them in identifying and breaking out of unhelpful thinking and/or behavioral patterns.

As a trauma therapist, I work with clients experiencing past or present trauma. My expertise encompasses various forms of trauma, including sexual, physical, emotional, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) resulting from war, natural disasters, and unresolved grief. Even though I specialize in Trauma counseling, I work with many clients who have anxiety, depression, mood disorders, intrusive thoughts, etc.
