Therapist Subscription Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to therapists and other mental health providers (“Therapists”) who subscribe to a premium profile on TherapyDen (the “Premium Subscription”). It does not apply to individuals using TherapyDen to search for a therapist.

By purchasing or renewing a Premium Subscription, you agree to this Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of TherapyDen’s Provider Terms of Use.

1. Types of subscriptions

TherapyDen currently offers two Premium Subscription options for Therapists:

  1. Monthly subscription
    • Price: USD $30 per month
    • Billing: charged every month until cancelled
  2. Annual subscription
    • Price: USD $330 per year
    • Billing: charged once per year until cancelled
    • The annual plan offers the same benefits as the monthly plan, at a discounted yearly rate (approximately one month free compared to paying month-to-month).

Premium features are identical on both plans; only the billing frequency and effective annual price differ.

TherapyDen may update its pricing from time to time. Any changes will apply on your next billing cycle and will be communicated in advance when required by applicable law.

Premium features and directory exposure are delivered immediately upon purchase, and access to Premium benefits begins as soon as payment is successfully processed.

2. Automatic renewal

Both the Monthly and Annual Premium Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.

  • By starting a Premium Subscription, you authorize TherapyDen (and our payment processor) to charge the payment method on file on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your plan).
  • If your payment method is declined or expires, TherapyDen may suspend or downgrade your profile until a valid payment method is provided.

You can view or update your billing details at any time from your account settings.

You are responsible for cancelling your subscription before the renewal date if you do not wish to continue. Failure to cancel before renewal will result in the applicable subscription fee being charged automatically.

3. Cancelling your subscription

You may cancel your Premium Subscription at any time in your TherapyDen account settings or by contacting us at [email protected].

  • Effective date of cancellation
    • When you cancel your Premium Subscription, your access to Premium features and directory exposure will end immediately upon cancellation, regardless of any remaining time in your current billing period.
    • Cancelling stops future renewals but does not entitle you to a refund for any unused time, visibility, or exposure already paid for.

After cancellation, your profile will revert to a free listing (if available) or be limited in accordance with our Provider Terms of Use.

4. Refund policy

Because TherapyDen is a subscription service that provides ongoing access and exposure through a premium profile, all subscription fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started.

Subscription fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable once the service has started.

The TherapyDen Premium Subscription is a digital service that begins immediately upon successful payment.

Access to Premium features may end immediately upon cancellation, regardless of any remaining paid time.

4.1. No refunds for change of mind or lack of results

TherapyDen does not guarantee any specific number of leads, new clients, income, or results. Accordingly:

  • We do not offer refunds if you decide you no longer wish to use your Premium Subscription.
  • We do not offer refunds if you are dissatisfied with the number or quality of leads, inquiries, or new clients you receive through the directory.

4.2. No pro-rated or partial refunds

No refunds are provided for any unused time, remaining visibility, directory placement, or exposure already delivered or made available during the current billing period.

  • Monthly plan: cancelling does not entitle you to a refund for any unused days in the month.
  • Annual plan: cancelling does not entitle you to a refund for any unused months in the year.

4.3. 7-day grace period for accidental purchase of the Annual plan

By default, all sales are final. However, we recognize that mistakes can happen when choosing between the Monthly and Annual plans.

If you intended to purchase the Monthly plan but accidentally purchased the Annual plan instead, you may request a one-time adjustment under the following conditions:

  • The request relates to your first charge for the Annual plan (not a renewal).
  • You contact us at [email protected] within 7 calendar days from the date of that annual charge.
  • In your request, you clearly state that you intended to purchase the Monthly plan rather than the Annual plan.

If these conditions are met, TherapyDen may, at its sole discretion:

  • Cancel and fully refund the Annual subscription charge; and
  • Downgrade or adjust your account so that you can re-subscribe to the Monthly plan if you wish.

In practice, this means:

  • You get your Annual payment back;
  • Your premium access may be adjusted or downgraded when the refund is processed;
  • You can then start a new Monthly subscription.

This 7-day grace period applies only to mistaken selection of the Annual plan instead of the Monthly plan. It does not apply to general changes of mind, dissatisfaction with results, or renewals of the Annual plan.

5. Exceptions: billing errors and duplicate charges

TherapyDen may, at its sole discretion, issue a refund or credit in the limited circumstances below:

  1. Duplicate charge (you were charged twice for the same billing period).
  2. Clear payment processing error (for example, you were charged after you had already cancelled before the renewal date, and our system failed to apply your cancellation).
  3. Other confirmed technical billing error directly attributable to TherapyDen or our payment processor.

To request a review of a potential billing error, please contact us at [email protected] within 30 days of the charge, and include:

  • Your full name
  • The email address associated with your TherapyDen account
  • Date and amount of the charge
  • A brief description of the issue

If a refund is approved, it will be processed to the original payment method where possible. Refund processing times may depend on your bank or card issuer.

6. Chargebacks

If you dispute a charge directly with your bank or card issuer (a “chargeback”) without first contacting TherapyDen:

  • We may suspend or terminate your Premium Subscription and/or your access to TherapyDen in accordance with our Provider Terms of Use.
  • By subscribing, you agree to contact TherapyDen first to attempt to resolve any billing issue before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer.
  • We reserve the right to dispute any chargeback that we believe is inconsistent with this Refund & Cancellation Policy or our records.
  • Initiating a chargeback does not extend access to Premium features or pause cancellation effects.

If you believe there is an issue with a charge, we strongly encourage you to contact us first so we can investigate and, if appropriate, resolve the issue directly.

7. Local consumer rights

Some jurisdictions provide statutory cancellation or refund rights that may apply to you as a consumer. Where such rights exist and cannot be waived or limited by contract, they will override any inconsistent terms in this Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude or limit any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable law.

8. Changes to this Policy

TherapyDen may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. When changes are made, we will:

  • Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page; or
  • Provide additional notice where required by law (for example, via email or a notice on the site).

Your continued use of a Premium Subscription after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Refund & Cancellation Policy.
