About My Clients

Are you feeling down in Bikini Bottom or Rock Bottom? Is a certain crab at work or school stressing you out? Is your partner(s) being a Squidward? Or are you just not feeling at home in your underwater treedome? I’m here to bring back the F.U.N. as a Junior Associate Clinician with Wombat MHS. I’m dedicated to using my strong foundation in social justice and advocacy to provide an inclusive, affirming, and radically queer alternative to traditional therapy.

My Background and Approach

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is my primary approach, as well as person-centered care. Through CBT you and I will collaborate to help empower you and develop the skills needed to alleviate your symptoms such as anxiety and depression. When your symptoms are eased, addressing the underlying circumstances that brought you here becomes easier. One effective strategy we can use is a problem-solving worksheet, where we define a problem, set a goal, brainstorm potential solutions with pros and cons, select one solution, and outline the steps needed to implement it. During our follow-up sessions, we'll evaluate your satisfaction with the chosen solution to determine its effectiveness and make any necessary adjustments. Additionally, we can incorporate activities that bring you joy, such as meditation, walks with supportive individuals, or gaming sessions with friends. These activities aim to help you to destress and alleviate your symptoms.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I identify as a queer individual of Puerto Rican and Salvadoran descent, with Indigenous Central American, Indigenous Caribbean, and African roots. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I have strong ties in Contra Costa County. Growing up in a predominantly working-class community instilled in me a deep commitment to social justice and the necessity for meaningful change. I am passionate about providing mental health services that are culturally affirming, non-judgmental, and accessible to all those in need. Over seven years of education has equipped me to advocate for underserved communities. Through internships and experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), I have worked with diverse groups, including first-year college students, the elderly, differently-abled individuals, BIPOC communities, and the LGBTQIA+ community. I always strive to achieve the best outcomes for those in my care.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
