About My Clients

Therapy ultimately boils down to radical acceptance and self-compassion. If we cannot access these core practices, we may continue to feel like we are walking upstream. If we end up working together, I will meet you where you are at in navigating through difficult emotions, hard decisions, familial challenges, and life’s uncertainties. It takes a lot of courage to show up, so, I honor that and aim to create a space where you feel heard and supported.

My Background and Approach

Since beginning my journey to becoming a therapist, I have always been committed to addressing mental health as it impacts the individual, family, community, and larger society. I believe that our wellness is impacted by the micro and the macro — what is going on in our individual experience and what is going on in the world. Using narrative practices as a guide, we will work together to identify the challenges you face and the values and skills you already possess to move through them. Using mindfulness techniques, we will cultivate tangible practices to approach your situation from a non-judgemental and curious place. I will support you in moving through the anxiety, sadness, fear, anger, heartache, and trauma so that you can live out your values.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My work is informed by my own personal valuation and work in intersectionality, anti-racist practice, and utilizing a queer framework. Whether you’re touching these topics for the first time, or are seeking to deepen your exploration, I look forward to supporting you on your journey. Therapy is an opportunity for people to uncover a deeper understanding of themselves and the identities they hold. It is about embracing that oftentimes there’s nothing to “fix”, and instead our task is to slow down, notice and then exercise self-compassion. We live in a society that idolizes perfection at the expense of mental wellbeing. The mere practice of trusting this can be liberating. And that’s part of the work -- accepting that we weren’t born to be perfect. We are ever-changing and ever-growing.
