About My Clients
I work deeply with LGBTQQIA+ folks of color who experience disconnection from themselves and/or their communities. People with connections in and outside of the U.S. who are negotiating multiple cultural ties. People who are navigating trauma and its effects, including sexual assault or intimate partner violence. And those who experience stress, hurt, or burnout related to caregiving, advocacy, community organizing, helping, or healing.
My Background and Approach
I offer therapy to individuals who experience disconnection from themselves, disconnection from their communities, and to those who are navigating trauma. My counseling approach draws from healing justice, disability justice, intersectionality, and anticolonial frameworks. Together, we will explore your life’s stories through mindfulness and attention to your body. We will map connections and disconnections in your life and explore how and where you can re/connect the dots. Using holistic practices and resources from me, your communities, your ancestral lineages, and within yourself, we will work together to support you to meet life’s challenges.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Life is full of friction. We are both shaped and challenged by generational wisdom as well as generational trauma. We are held by bio and chosen family’s love and wounded by its ruptures. We can feel at times embodied or, instead, disconnected from our physical selves. We are rooted in cultural love while also weathering white supremacy, colonialism, and capitalism. In some parts of our lives, we are made to feel small by harm and abuse. In others, we are transformed by love that is safe and recognizes our worth. Amidst all the friction of these experiences and their effects – the falling apart and coming together again – is you. And negotiating or surviving it all is hard. As your therapist, I am here to support you as you try.
