My Background and Approach
Whole Body Healing. We carry so much inside us and we can at times feel at odds with ourself and with others. Just not feeling settled in our own skin. Integrating somatic work into talk therapy, we can work to come home to ourselves so we experience more of life. My approach is somatic and intersectional, being aware of generational, historical and ongoing trauma that impacts many of our communities. Together we can find out and find your flow. I take into consideration you as an individual as well as your family, identities, and cultural context. We can weave together all the parts of you that feel hidden, rejected, hurt, unsure, and bring them into view in a supportive way. I work in a relational way, offering validation and connection through the working relationship we will have. Emailed preferred if you'd like to set up a free 20 minute phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the strength and power of people and communities. If given that space, resources, and attention many of our communities have a natural and powerful inclination to heal and support one another. I work under the assumption that oppression is ongoing, and for many of us, we are in a constant state of survival energy, reacting and responding to the systems in place that affect us. This is why I believe therapy is "political" because many of our identities have been politicized. We must be aware of how that impacts our mental health, physical health, and loved ones, as therapy cannot be the answer for all of healing when so much pain is caused by oppressive systems that need to be challenged and changed. Therapy has it's place, and so does resistance efforts.
