About My Clients
Do you or your child feel anxious, overwhelmed, or depressed? People seek therapy for a variety of reasons. Some individuals desire more self-knowledge or support during times of transition. Others have had chronic challenges and are ready to make a change. Whatever your circumstances, therapy is a safe space for you to be yourself and work towards your goals.
My Background and Approach
As a psychologist, I am a partner, mentor, and advocate for my clients. My treatment approach is flexible, but grounded in techniques that are effective and supported by research. I strive to create a relationship where my clients feel respected, supported, and accepted, so they can move confidently towards their goals. I believe challenges can lead us to understand ourselves more deeply and ultimately live more fully. I use cognitive behavioral therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to help clients resolve negative experiences. I have experience and success treating anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar, post-traumatic stress disorder, grief, self-harm behaviors, and challenges related to ADHD, autism, and life transitions. Lastly, I conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for specific learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, gifted programming, and complex psychiatric disorders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strive to build a safe space for you to be seen, understood and respected as your authentic self. I believe it is an honor and privilege to be invited into someone's life. I cherish opportunities to celebrate a client's wins and reflect on their growth. I also celebrate clients for their vulnerabilities, and value opportunities to process the tough and messy parts of themselves. I am the child of an immigrant and make it a point to support marginalized individuals inside and outside the therapy room. I feel very strongly about protecting the rights and safety of individuals that make up our diverse community whatever their ethnicity, faith, or sexual orientation.
