About My Clients
My practice helps clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and/or trauma manage symptoms through an attachment-based model, grounded in CBT and Reality Therapy. I am also trained in EMDR and DBT skills
My Background and Approach
I tend to be warm and down to earth. My approach is eclectic and tailored to each client. I am trained in EMDR to assist with managing traumatic memories and triggers. I also have training in the use of DBT skills to assist with emotion regulation. I believe in client-led sessions so therapy moves at the client's pace.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are wired through our environment and our genetics to have beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. We often don't question those beliefs; we just react as though they are true. Frequently these beliefs are the source of our suffering. Cognitive based therapies can help us recognize and change those beliefs to help us feel better. Sometimes changing how we think isn't enough, especially when someone has trauma. EMDR is a somatic therapy that helps process traumatic memories. Besides loving to learn how to help my clients, I'm also supportive of our local LGBTQIA and BLM communities. I have struggled with anxiety and depression over my life and have found therapy helpful.
