About My Clients
As a therapist, I use a biological perspective to support client's in better understanding their body's physiological response to stress, to normalize "change" through the lens of self-compassion, and using somatic interventions to support the stress reduction and emotional regulation. I tend to work best with client's who are looking to increase their own motivation in learning, personal growth, and connecting deeper with the human experience.
My Background and Approach
I was trained in Marriage and Family Therapy to use a systemic perspective to support client's in building awareness of self through different contexts of their identity and relationships with others. I believe this approach can assist in de-pathologizing individuals and taking a closer look at the dynamics that can reinforce symptoms. I have additional training in supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals and families. I have also been trained in a somatic therapy intervention, Neuro-emotional technique, to be able to assist client in reducing the intensity of the body's physiological experience of stress and allowing more space for behavioral responses vs. reactions to stress.
