About My Clients
I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families with a range of concerns. I have experience working with those struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, self-esteem, life transitions, and relational conflict and distress. In addition, I have experience working with couples experiencing conflict, communication challenges, and feelings of disconnection, as well as couples impacted by trauma, PTSD, and infidelity. I am passionate about serving the LGBTQ+ population.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFTA) born and raised in North Carolina. I attended UNC-Chapel Hill and East Carolina University, earning degrees in Psychology, Human Development, Gender Studies, and Marriage and Family Therapy. As an LMFTA, I take an experiential and systems approach to therapy. It can be helpful to explore the impact of the systems that have and currently surround us, whether this is our family, neighborhood, state, or culture. Additionally, I believe that we are relational beings and that relationships and community are vital. This is true for the therapeutic relationship as well and I strive to develop a secure space in therapy for you to process experiences, thoughts, and emotions. In our work together, I find it valuable to collaborate and identify a balance of togetherness and autonomy that feels right for you and identify opportunities for change so that you can live your life in a way that feels authentic and meaningful.
